Carbon Off Setting

The Global Challenge

Global warming is the biggest challenge facing our generation and an issue that affects every living being on the planet. Its an issue that demands our attention and best efforts to initiate positive environmental change for future generations. Carbon Offsetting is a simple way of compensating for the emissions produced by our daily activities with an equivalent carbon dioxide saving through approved climate care initiatives.

Carbon Offsetting

Travel Portraits offsets the Co2 emissions from all flight travel in photography projects. A percentage of sales from image licensing and exhibition prints is invested directly into a portfolio of reforestation projects in partnership with Climate Care.

Climate Care is an organisation that funds projects with the specific aim of making reductions in Co2 and other greenhouse gas concentrations, in order to reduce climate change. Climate Care's emissions calculations are based on best available information and are used to determine an appropriate amount of Co2 for carbon offset purposes.

Travel Portraits has agreed to pay Climate Care £7.50 per tonne of Co2 reduction and an initial offset of 10 tonnes at the start of each reporting year. These payments are funded by sales of Travel Portraits photo prints, canvases and other commercial initiatives such as image licensing. Accordingly, Travel Portraits customers receive a certificate indicating the specific Co2 offsets contribution with each purchase.
